What to do when you need
Emergency Dental Care?
When facing a dental emergency, staying calm and taking the right steps can make a significant difference in your treatment outcome. At Friendly Dental, our compassionate team is ready to guide you through emergency situations and provide prompt, gentle care.
First, assess the severity of your situation. For severe tooth pain, rinse with warm water and take over-the-counter pain medication as directed. Contact our office immediately for same-day treatment. If you experience facial swelling with fever, seek immediate care as this may indicate a serious infection.
For knocked-out teeth, time is critical. Handle the tooth by the crown only, rinse gently if dirty, and try to reinsert it. If not possible, keep it moist in milk and get to our office within 30 minutes for the best chance of saving it.
Control bleeding by applying gentle pressure with clean gauze. For uncontrolled bleeding, apply continuous pressure and contact our emergency line immediately.
If you’ve lost fillings or crowns causing sharp pain, avoid chewing on that side and contact us promptly. Cover sharp edges with dental wax temporarily. For abscessed teeth with visible swelling or pus, rinse with salt water and seek immediate treatment.
